I had the saaaaame problem times 100 because of my Jew Fro. I switched to Aveda Smooth Infusion shampoo and conditioner, Damage Remedy Repair cream, and smooth infusion styling products (plus a really great hair cut) and everything has been okay ever since. Get thee to an Aveda salon!
